Randi Glazer Shares Uplifting Travel Stories

Randi Glazer Shares Uplifting Travel Stories

There have been countless instances in which someone has been transformed by an epiphany experienced while traveling, and Randi Glazer certainly qualifies as an individual who has been repeatedly enlightened by travel experiences that have taken her to destinations all over the globe. Glazer recently returned from a lengthy trip to China, where she was able to visit both the Reed Flute Caves and, of course, The Great Wall of China. While the sights are certainly something to behold, Glazer’s travel experiences seem to reinforce the notion that it is the people that make a location particularly special.

During her experience trekking through the many provinces of the expansive country, Glazer was able to meet many interesting individuals, many of whom were traveling through the region as well and were more than willing to share uplifting stories of their own. It was the locals, however, that offered Glazer the opportunity to experience the unique cultures of each province on a firsthand basis. As is often the case, Glazer made a point to backpack through the areas in which it was not terribly inconvenient to do so, which ensured she had plenty of opportunities to converse with anyone she happened to come across along the way.

In the Reed Flute Caves, Glazer was able to visit a place that had been a popular tourist destination going back more than 1,200 years, and she was able to learn a great deal about the history of the area from one of the locals she met on her way to the illuminated cave system. It was the sight of the caves that contributed to the epiphany that would later be documented at length in Glazer’s travel journal, which she dutifully transcribed in order to share with the many digital followers who keep track of her journeys via her website.

Arizona Businesses Have Strong Track Record of Service and Goodwill

Arizona Businesses Have Strong Track Record of Service and Goodwill

During a time in which cynicism seems to be on the rise when discussing the profit-driven behavior of many of the largest corporations, a number of businesses throughout the state of Arizona have worked diligently in an effort to disprove the notion that the bottom line is always the most pressing concern. While the headlines are often reserved for corporate misdeeds and financial misbehavior, there are far more examples of laudable work coming from the corporate sector than most people realize. Surely Arizona is not the only place in which this is the case, but each of the following stories serve as potent reminders of how businesses in Arizona have long been committed to service and goodwill.

Surprise, Arizona

Recent research into educational outcomes has consistently indicated that the level of success a student experiences in an academic program is tied to their access to certain types of technology. Internet access is critical, but so is access to courses that teach programming and coding skills. Through the use of computer science courses teaching subjects like web design surprise az has seen its students enjoy dramatic improvements.

The technology necessary to conduct these kinds of courses can be quite costly, which is why many area businesses have continually contributed in a variety of ways to make access that much more affordable. Local businesses have offered advanced software programs along with the latest developments in hardware to the school systems, and others have volunteered their time to assist teachers in leading these courses. Through the support of the community and local businesses, area students have been able to benefit tremendously from a program to which they would not have otherwise had access.

Phoenix, Arizona

Communities across the nation have struggled to find a solution to homelessness, adopting programs designed to assist those most in need. Despite all of these efforts, the issue has continued to persist and remains a difficult circumstance to overcome. In Phoenix, the city has done a great deal for the homeless, but one local business was inspired by the story of a mobile beauty salon designed to serve the homeless. While access to the kind of services offered by a beauty salon is rarely thought of as a vital need, the positive effect is immediately evident upon speaking to anyone who has been involved with the project.

Those who have been ensnared by homelessness find it difficult to find gainful employment due to their appearance, which in turn engenders a lack of self-confidence that makes their situation seem even more difficult to overcome. The mobile salon also helps to make people feel cared for, which is also essential for a group that is at an increased risk of falling into a sense of hopelessness. The business that began the mobile salon in Phoenix has seen support for the project grow and it is clear that it has been highly beneficial to the homeless community in Phoenix.

Tempe, Arizona

Home to several institutions of higher learning, businesses in Tempe have consistently assisted students with the many fees they face in their effort to earn a college degree. Even at a state school, the cost of tuition alone can be difficult to afford, not to mention books and the cost of living in the area. Understanding that cost should not be a hurdle to education, many area businesses have founded programs designed to reduce the economic burden students often encounter.

In addition to offering entry-level positions and flexible work hours, a number of businesses also provide programs in which they subsidize some of the costs of education through merit scholarships and academic grants. By rewarding students for their academic efforts, these local businesses ensure that talented students are able to reach their full potential and are not limited due to economic factors largely beyond their control.

Slaske Builders Build Custom Home For Homeless Olaf

Slaske Builders Build Custom Home For Homeless Olaf

It’s not often you hear of stories where someone goes out of their way, looking for someone to bless. Although you don’t hear of these stories, it doesn’t necessarily mean they do not happen. Just last year, a man from Norway traveled to Ohio to meet the woman of his dreams. The man, whose name is Olaf, spent everything he had to make this trip possible. Olaf had said that he and the woman, whose name is private, had been talking long distance for  2 years and he decided it had been long enough and they must meet each other.

When the time finally came, he arrived in Ohio looking for his lover, but she was no where to be found. Text message after text message, phone call after phone call was made, but to no success. After spending the entire day stranded in the airport, it has become apparent that the woman Olaf had spent everything he had to be with her had deceived him and now there was no way to get back. Brokenhearted, abandoned and alone, Olaf took a walk miles down the busy road to the closest park and sat down on a bench, still trying to get in touch with the woman.

Eventually, a wealthy man who happened to be strolling in the park that fine day saw Olaf and decided to pay it forward and hear his story. He took a seat beside the saddened man from Norway and listened. Olaf told the man he spent all he had on the love for a woman and was now alone and homeless. The wealthy man’s heart sunk. He wanted to help Olaf, but wasn’t sure how, until he was stuck with an idea. He called up Slaske Builders in Toledo, Ohio and told them to prepare to build a custom home on his lot. He just ordered a house to be built for Olaf.

The foreign man was shocked, stunned, speechless beyond belief. “Why would you do such a thing for a total stranger?” he asked. The wealthy man smiled and replied, “I am blessed to have all that I do, but if I never use the blessings I have to bless others, what good are they? What good am I? The whole reason why I am blessed is to bless someone else.” The wealthy man bought Olaf his furniture and hired him to work at his company. Instantly, Olaf’s life was restored again. Although he lost a lover, he gained so much more.

Word of Mouth

Word of Mouth

imagesA3PCDPMG imagesZY3WFI4PThe best way to convey that feel good story is by word of mouth.  The telling od the story is so much more powerful coming from the source.  The personal touch always comes through in the telling.  I like to hear how the story is told as the words paint a picture of the world around the story.  If you have that feel good story you want to share just let it fly.  The receiving end of the story will be appreciative.  Tim DeCapua has a whole plethora of stories that he loves to tell.  If you manage to get him talking you will not be disappointed.

Love Story

Love Story

untitled (268) untitled (267) images (25) images (26)The best feel good stories are the ones told out of love.  I think back to when my kids were young and my mind floods with feel good stories.  My son was such a good little man and my daughter was pure love.  She would kiss everything.  My son included.  He was the best big brother you could imagine.  They had a bond that could be seen by all.  They would play so nice together that pleased me to no end.  I can close my eyes and see them loving children like a feel good story from the past.  If I could freeze time it would have been then.  Dove Medical Press agrees that feel good stories are the best kind.

A Story Told

A Story Told

Abraham_Lincoln_November_1863Stories must be told.  Throughout time stories have told our story as a nation.  Stories are the personal observations of the people that live through those amazing times in history.  If not for the story tellers the whole meaning of history would have been lost.  It is those personal observations the breath life into history.  Can you imagine a history class where Abe Lincoln speaks to the class and shares his live stories?  That would be the greatest and the student would really learn.  http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/personal-finance/home-cents/when-to-consolidate-your-debt/article4280458/ shows the value of a story well told. Abe Lincoln was well known for his story telling ability.  This was a big part of his appeal through history.

Get Real

Get Real

untitled (26)Real stories are the way to go.  The made up stuff is a little weird.  I like to read about the life of the author.  Life is always better than fiction.  If you can share your personal truth in the written word effectively you are special.  most of us are lost when it come to articulating what we really mean.  If you have a story to tell, let it out.  Share it with the world and the world will be better for it.  I think that good stories are the best part of relationships.  Those stories explain how you go to be who you are.  Let us know.  Minnesota’s Home For Life Animal Sanctuary has stories that go untold every day.

Tell it like it is

Tell it like it is

A story from the heart is a rare thing.  Most do not share their real truth.  Those memories are often too painful to talk about.  That is the normal reaction.  The healthy way is to let it out and not keep it inside.  It is like a cup overflowing and each time you tell the story the cup gets a sip removed.  Soon the cup will be a lot more manageable.  If you cant bring yourself to approach the subject it is like poison that slowly kills your capacity to feel.  love is a feeling that will suffer as well.  If you need help go to a counselor and talk about it.  Dove Medical Press can be a good place to look for that help.untitled (17)

Feel-Good Stories From the Front Lines Are Rarely Told

Feel-Good Stories From the Front Lines Are Rarely Told

While there are countless examples of heartwarming stories involving soldiers facing the harsh circumstances of war, there are far too many of these stories that do not get the attention they deserve on a grand scale. This is because film directors often opt for telling a story in which the protagonist is a complex character who is often questioning his role in the military or who must deal with moral issues that have no clear solution and only lead to intense feelings of regret.

One recent example is a film that debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival, but the stories that deserve more widespread attention are those being told by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. These stories accurately portray what it is like to be a soldier and tell the tales that are so frequently overlooked by the storytellers who have access to such a broad audience. Through significant effort, these feel-good stories are starting to garner the attention they so richly deserve so that more and more Americans can truly understand the entire story as it relates to the experiences of our military personnel who are serving our country in locations all over the world.

Stories that make me cry……

Stories that make me cry……

The stories or movies that make me cry are the best written or shown on television and screen.  They pull on the heart string of your fabric of stories that so caring and love the way the world should show caring and kindness to all who live and breath the air together on this plant.imagesK8XO03CX Why is it that we take sides and stand apart from others when we are all made of the same blood and water skin and DNA  we breathe the same air drink the water and have families that we love and care for . People of this plant need to wake up and begin to walk in everyone’s shoes and start to trust and care for one another as we are all family in one way or another.  Firoz Patel was a sad story also.
